KIEV, Oct. 2 – The surplus of the financial account of Ukraine's balance of payments in 2009 is expected at $22.7 billion, while the deficit of the current account will be $22.6 billion, according to the head of the group of advisers for the NBU chairman, Valeriy Lytvytsky.
"I don't agree with the forecasts of a sharp worsening of the situation and the weakening of our national currency. In 2009, according to preliminary forecasts, the surplus of the financial account will be $22.7 billion, and it will be enough to cover the deficit of the current account, which is expected to be around $22.6 billion," he told Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.
