KIEV, Sept. 11 - The lack of a long-term agreement with Russia, Ukraine’s only gas supplier, and the resulting price uncertainty are the main threats for the country’s economy in 2009, Parliament Speaker Arseniy Yatseniuk said Thursday.

Yatseniuk, who spoke at the European Business Association meeting in Kiev late Thursday, said Ukraine’s heavy dependence on Russian gas was like a “drug addiction” that must be cured.
