KIEV, Sept. 9 - Ukrainian banks' net profit in January through August amounted to UAH6.8 billion, 60% over same period last year, while growth over seven months was 63% and growth over six months was 71%, the National Bank of Ukraine said.

The banks' aggregate net profit in August 2008 alone was UAH700 million (in July 2007 it was UAH900 million), whereas it was UAH1 billion in June 2008, UAH400 million in May 2008, UAH 1 billion in April 2008, UAH800 million in both March and February 2008, and UAH1.3 billion in January 2008.
