KIEV, Sept. 3 – Most Ukrainian metals companies are now lagging behind their Russian peers in the price-quality conditions of their products, as well as in their level of servicing consumers and the flexibility of their trade policies, the president of the Ukrainian Association of Metal Traders, Andriy Fedoseev, told Interfax-Ukraine.
Commenting on the results of a trip by a delegation of Ukrainian metals companies to the Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works in Chelyabinsk region in Russia last week, Fedoseev said that recently Russian metals companies are actively being reconstructed, switching to producing goods that are in great demand on the market, increasing the quality of their products and cutting expenses on their production, increasing the efficiency of the metals business. In some cases, the culture of production and quality exceeds even European standards.
