KIEV, Sept. 1 – Raisa Bohatyriova, the top security advisor of President Viktor Yushchenko, on Monday was expelled from the opposition Regions Party after dismissing the party’s heavily pro-Russian line in the recent war in Georgia.
The move shows the party’s conservative wing, associated with former Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych and former Finance Minister Mykola Azarov, has been increasing its clout against the liberal wing associated with Bohatyriova.
