KIEV, Aug. 19 – Inflation expectations worsened in Ukraine in May-June, and the Ukrainians' estimation of their current welfare dropped to a record low over the last five years, according to the International Center for Policy Studies (ICPS).
"The current condition index has been falling over 2008. It has reached 88.7 points. This means that most Ukrainians negatively assessed their welfare in early summer 2008. This drop in consumer sentiment among Ukrainian people is explained by a decrease in their propensity to consume," the press release reads.
