KIEV, Aug. 11 – Ukraine's government has increased state subsidies for raising and selling livestock and poultry from the current UAH 1.90 to UAH 2.90 per kilogram of live weight.
This was stipulated under government resolution No.706 of Aug. 6, 2008.
According to the document, the subsidy for pigs will be UAH 2.15 per kilogram instead of the current UAH 1.40 per kilogram, for chicken it will be UAH 1 per kilogram (previously UAH 0.65 per kilogram), for ducks, geese and turkeys it will be UAH 1.40 per kilogram (UAH 0.90 per kilogram before).
