KIEV, Aug. 12 – The implementation of railway ticket sales through the Internet will require significant changes in Ukrainian legislation Experts from consortium Management Consulting Group (MCG, Kiev) have said.
"Initially, in many countries, the legislative base prevented implementing electronic tickets. So, in Ukraine, the implementation of the system of electronic ticket sales will require significant changes to the legislation. Also, the absence of a law on digital signatures prevents the full implementation of such a system. According to the Ukrainian civil legislation, an agreement (as a railway ticket is an agreement for passenger transportation) cannot be signed in electronic form. All systems of sales through the Internet without an electronic signature can only be of an informative character. A user can book a ticket, but he can to pay in full only in pay offices or to a courier, as it is now done in Internet stores," according to a press release of the company.
