KIEV, Aug. 8 – A housing market correction of 10-15% might soon occur, analysts from Ukrainian investment companies polled by the Interfax-Ukraine agency said.
"A correction of flat prices downward is possible during the next year, but once the liquidity crisis passes and mortgage credits become cheaper, the price of economy class housing may start growing again. The prices of construction materials and the salaries of builders (as well as that of an average Ukrainian) are growing. This is the reason why a current slack period should be viewed as a market correction, but not a major development on the real estate market," said Mykhailo Salnikov, an analyst from the Sokrat investment group (Kiev).
