IVANO-FRANKIVSK, Aug. 7 – The United Nations has praised the Ukrainian government's efforts on tackling the aftermath of the devastating flooding in Ukraine's western regions.

Francis O'Donnell, UN Resident Coordinator in Ukraine, said at a meeting with Ivano-Frankivsk regional council chairman Ihor Oliynyk on Thursday that Ukraine's permanent representative at UN had asked the organization to provide the assistance necessary to address the consequences of the flood in Ukraine.
