KIEV, Aug. 4 - The next-generation Antonov-148 regional jet aircraft has begun tests to expand its operational conditions in Russia's polar region.
At the initial stage of these tests the airplane will be inspected at Khatanga airport, ANTK Antonov, the aircraft manufacturer, told Interfax.
"According to the request filed by the designer, the aircraft will be certified for working in the regions located at latitudes as far as 78 degree north. There are several airfields there, at which An-148 will be due to perform flights at the request of the potential Russian customer. Khatanga is one of them," the source said.
