KIEV, July 29 – The deficit of the current account of Ukraine's balance of payments in January to June 2008 grew by 3.4 times year-over-year, to $6.7 billion, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.
"In H1 2008, the deficit of the current account of Ukraine's balance of payments was $6.7 billion (minus 7.7% to GDP)," reads the report, referring to estimated data.
The total balance of payments with a surplus of $2.3 billion was due to a considerable inflow of long-term funds to the financing account.
