KIEV, July 22 – With the arrival of low-cost airlines on the Ukrainian market, the railways could loose around 46% of their passengers in the future, according to analysts of the Management Consulting Group consortium.
"In the strategic outlook, budget airlines are of a threat to the passenger sector of Ukrzaliznytsia. The potential structure of future clients of budget airlines in Ukraine is 46% of the passengers in sleeping cars on railways, who want to get to the destination 5-10 times quicker and pay the same or less," reads an official press release of the group.
