KIEV, July 9 – A joint venture led by U.S. oil company Vanco Energy sued Ukraine for breaking an agreement allowing the company to develop a major oil and natural gas field offshore the Black Sea.

Vanco Prykerchenska, as the joint venture is known, appealed to the International Court of Arbitration in Stockholm, seeking to force Ukraine to resume the production sharing agreement.
