KIEV, July 9 – Karpatnaftokhim Ltd. in Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region, plans to resume operations in September, according to its director general, Serhiy Chmykhalov.
He said that by early 2009, the company would resume normal operations.
As reported, Karpatnaftokhim Ltd. shut down production for two-and-a-half months due to the high price of fuel – its core raw material. There was a difficult situation with sales of vinyl chloride, as the production facilities of the only foreign consumers of the product – the polyvinyl chloride plants in Hungary, Romania and Slovakia – have become obsolete.
