KIEV, June 24 - Ukraine's grain harvest for 2008 will come to 40 million tons, 20 million of which tons will consist of wheat, Agricultural Policy Minister Yuriy Melnyk said on Tuesday.
"Concerning the planned harvest, according to our forecast, wheat will account for half of the 40 million tons of grain," he said.
Ukraine harvested around 29.3 million tons of grain in 2007, including corn. Therefore, the country's total harvest could increase 36.5% in 2008.
