KIEV, May 29 – The Fuel and Energy Ministry started the liquidation of the Ukratomprom, the nuclear power and uranium producer, which had been created in 2007 to merge the country’s nuclear power and uranium producers.

The announcement of the liquidation of the concern was published in the official government newspaper Uriadovy Kurier on Wednesday. President Viktor Yushchenko was earlier concerned the merger would threaten energy security.
