KIEV, May 23 – Ukraine's real GDP growth in 2008 will be 6.5%, compared to 7.6% in 2007, according to Goldman Sachs Senior Economist and Executive Director Rory MacFarquhar.
According to his assessment, announced at the annual investment conference of Dragon Capital in Kiev, the deficit of the current account of Ukraine's balance of payments this year could grow to 8.8% of GDP, up from 4.2% of GDP last year, and the deficit of the Ukrainian national budget would be 1.6% of GDP.
