KIEV, May 23 - In response to growing prices of energy and rising pressure from energy producers, President Viktor Yushchenko on Friday called for the creation of a regional bloc that would improve energy security.

The bloc, which may eventually include seven countries linking the Caspian Sea, the Black Sea and the Baltic Sea, is largely seen as a counterweight to Russia’s growing use of energy as political tool.
