KIEV, May 6 - Donbass Fuel and Energy Company (DTEK) produced 4.413 million tons of coal in Q1, 12.1% more than the same period a year earlier.

Energy coal production totaled 3.613 million tons (up 8.6% year-on-year) and coking coal production rose to 0.800 million tons (up 30.7%). Improved technology and measures to improve operations drove the production gains.

Acquisition of control of the Dobropillia and Oktiabrska coking plants allowed DTEK's Pavlohradvuhillia to increase coking volumes 80% to 3.02 million tons in the first quarter.
