KIEV, May 6 – Ukraine's Defense Ministry has worked out and submitted to the National Communications Regulatory Commission a draft plan on the conversion of radio frequency bands, the ministry told Interfax-Ukraine.
The expenditure on the conversion of radio frequency bands is estimated at UAH 1.15 billion.
According to the draft, an upgrade of over 200 radio electronic communications facilities would be conducted in the light of the conversion, which is scheduled for 2008-2009, including nine radar stations used by the armed forces. The key suppliers of the new equipment would be Zaporizhia-based Iskra and Odessa-based Telekart-Prylad.
