MOSCOW, April 21 - Russia's Mobile TeleSystems is not planning to independently take part in a tender for the sale of the Ukrainian government's stake in Ukrtelecom and will only do so in a consortium with other companies, MTS President Leonid Melamed said at a press conference in Moscow on Monday.

"MTS will not be the company that consolidates Ukrtelecom. We will only participate in the tender in favor of Comstar and AFK [Sistema]," he said.
