KIEV, April 14 – Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko has said that inflation in Ukraine will be reined in over five or six months.
"We received the country's economic problems from the previous government - not with galloping inflation, but with record inflation – 17% annual inflation in 2007, and this was record inflation in the world in 2007," she said in an interview with the 1+1 television channel on Sunday night.
"We received the full collapse of the corporations that supplied gas, electricity and carried out railway transportation. Today, we're improving the situation step by step. Nobody can do this at once. High international inflation, which has never reached such high figures in the European Union and other countries, [was a reason] for domestic inflation in Ukraine," she said.
