KIEV, April 9 – Gazprom, the Russian gas giant, has been taking steps to register a fully-owned subsidiary in Ukraine that would focus on selling gas to Ukrainian consumers, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said Wednesday.
The establishment of the subsidiary is part of the last month’s agreement between Gazprom and Naftogaz Ukrayiny, the national oil and gas company, that ended the standoff between the two over gas supplies.
