LONDON, March 13 – The fixed exchange rate of the Ukrainian national currency, the hryvnia, against the US dollar is one of the fundamental reasons for the high rate of inflation in Ukraine, economist Anders Aslund has said.
The dollar is falling rapidly and it means that Ukraine imports inflation, he said.
"The most important thing is to cancel the pegging, it needs to be done urgently," he said at the Ukrainian Investment Summit in London on March 12.
