BRUSSELS, March 11 – Ukraine has pledged to resolve the issue of building a deep-water canal in the Danube River, taking into account ecological factors.

The European Union, in turn, said that the situation is a bilateral issue for Ukraine and Romania. It also urged Ukraine to refrain from taking decisions that may do harm to the environment.
