KIEV, Feb. 27 – The closing of the UK Department for International Development (DFID) in Ukraine is evidence that British government recognizes Ukraine's significant progress in democracy and European integration, British Ambassador to Ukraine Timothy Barrow said at a conference in Kiev."

Barrow said that DFID had worked in Ukraine for 17 years.

He noted that Ukraine had walked a long path from gaining its independence until the present, with DFID accompanying the country on this way.
