KIEV, Feb. 21 - The share of foreign capital in the Ukrainian banking sector fell from 35% in December 2007 to 34.4% in January 2008, according to the National Bank of Ukraine.

The bank said that the total registered statutory capital of the country's banks in January grew by 1.6% or by UAH675 million, to UAH43.548 billion.

At the start of 2007, the share of foreign capital in the total statutory capital of Ukrainian banks had reached 27.6%.
