PARIS, Feb. 20 – President Viktor Yushchenko traveled to Paris on Wednesday apparently seeking to win French support for Kiev’s plans to join NATO’s Membership Action Plan as soon as in April.

The U.S. has been strongly supporting Ukraine’s bid to join the MAP, but France and some other European countries have apparently been cautious, analysts said.

Yushchenko said he was happy with a meeting with his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy.
