KIEV, Feb. 19 - The average price of electricity sold on Ukraine’s wholesale electricity market in 2007 was UAH239.2 per MWh, a 19.4% rise, the Energy Market state company said.
The growth in the average price of electricity sold on the wholesale electricity market was primarily due to an increase in the prices and tariffs of electricity generating companies for electricity, a rise in the volume of subsidized certificates, from UAH5.406 billion in 2006, to UAH6.741 billion in 2007, and a rise in payments to Ukrenergo state company, which exploits the main and interstate power transmission lines and controls the power grid, from UAH1.33 billion to UAH1.88 billion.
