BRUSSELS, Jan. 28 – Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko Monday pushed for the construction of a new natural gas pipeline bypassing Russia and giving Ukraine and the European Union access to alternative gas deposits in Central Asia.

The pipeline, which would go across the Black Sea to Georgia, would give Ukraine immediate access to gas deposits in Azerbaijan but in the future would also carry gas from Turkmenistan.
