KIEV, Jan. 26 – Ukraine made progress on Saturday in debt talks with its key natural gas suppliers, averting complications that could potentially lead to disruption of steady transit of gas to the European Union.

The progress came a day after a top Ukrainian gas industry executive walked out of a meeting, triggering a wave of complaints and threats from the gas suppliers.
