KIEV, Jan. 22 – The Regions Party, Ukraine’s largest opposition group, on Tuesday agreed to nominate its members to the National Constitutional Council, a panel created by President Viktor Yushchenko for re-writing the country’s constitution.
The decision, declared by Viktor Yanukovych, the party leader, at a meeting with Yushchenko, ends the party’s boycott of the panel, signaling that the efforts to re-write the constitution may yield success.
