KIEV, Nov. 29 – Yulia Tymoshenko, one of Ukraine’s most popular political figures, may throw her support behind the re-election of President Viktor Yushchenko in 2009, a close ally said Thursday.

Oleksandr Turchynov, the No. 2 man in the Tymoshenko group, said the creation of the pro-Western coalition Thursday was a step towards nominating “a single candidate” at the presidential election.
