DONETSK, Nov. 20 - Greater safety measures have been put in place at all Ukrainian coal mines exposed to the risk of methane outbursts, Serhiy Storchak, chairman of the Ukrainian State Committee for Industrial and Occupational Safety and Mining Supervision, said in Donetsk on Tuesday.
Speaking about the situation at the Zasyadko coal mine in the Donetsk region where there was a methane blast on Nov. 18, Storchak said that by Tuesday morning rescuers recovered 78 bodies of killed miners and found 10 more. Also, 31 people are in the hospital, including one invery critical condition.
