KIEV, Nov. 19 - The reason behind a recent disaster in the Black Sea was that ship-owners and captains were transferring goods not in ports, but in the Kerch Strait itself, director of the Kerch R&D for fishery and oceanography Borys Panov said.
"We stated dozens of times that this is unacceptable. And here you are: the bomb went off. If they had not transferred cargo, no one would have drowned. Why there were 150 vessels? Because millions of tons of various goods are transferred there," Panov said in an interview with tDzerkalo Tyzhnia weekly.
