KIEV, Nov. 16 - President Viktor Yushchenko on Friday urged Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych to submit a report within days on the environmental impact of a recent major Russian fuel oil spill in the Kerch Strait.

The report is requested as Ukraine seeks to demand compensation from Russian oil tanker owners for damages caused by the biggest oil spill that had ever struck this area of the Black Sea.

“Yushchenko is expecting the report early next week,” the presidential press service reported.
