KIEV, Oct. 8 - Electricity production in Ukraine rose 1.2% year-on-year to 142.007 billion kWh in the first nine months of 2007, the Fuel and Energy Ministry reported Monday.

Thermal power plants (TPP) reduced electricity generation by 0.8% and output tumbled 19.9% at hydropower plants (HPP), while nuclear power plants (NPP) increased production by 4% and combined heat-and-power (CHP) plants and isolated power plants.
