KIEV, Oct. 2 – Ukraine has fallen behind in the economic situation in Eastern Europe, the creator of the Doing Business series, Simeon Djankov, said in an interview with the Dzerkalo Tyzhdnia weekly newspaper.
According to the report, which was introduced by the World Bank and International Finance Corporation in Washington on September 26, Ukraine ranked 139 out of 178 countries in the business regulation sphere. The lowest assessment was received in the area of paying taxes, where Ukraine ranked 177. There were also bad figures in licensing and protecting investors' rights, where Ukraine ranked 174 and 141, respectively.
