KIEV, Sept. 28 - Ukraine plans to re-equip all gas compressor plants to allow them to use cheap electric power, not natural gas, for moving Russian gas to markets in the European Union, the energy and fuel ministry reported Friday.
Ukraine has started re-equipping plants this year and hopes to save 500 million cubic meters of gas before the end of the year, the ministry said. The same technology will help to save 1.2 billion cu m in 2008, the ministry said.
