KIEV, Sept. 14 - Ukraine’s third-largest producer of ammonia, Azot Severodonetsk Amalgamation, on Friday shut its methanol unit following an explosion that destroyed a wall and injured a worker, the emergency ministry reported.

The company quickly issued a statement assuring the local authorities that there was no threat to the people in the region following the accident. Azot said it has been investigating the cause of the accident.
