KIEV, Sept. 3 – In a move that challenges President Viktor Yushchenko’s Our Ukraine-People’s Self-defense group, the Justice Ministry appealed a court ruling that urged the Central Election Committee to cancel the controversial registration of the Pora party.

The appeal shows that the ministry has been aggressively taking steps to make sure that Yushchenko’s group remains split ahead of the Sept. 30 snap election.
