KIEV, Aug. 20 - President Viktor Yushchenko insisted on Monday that plans to privatize key enterprises be suspended until after early parliamentary elections scheduled for Sept. 30.
Today is a time when "one feels there is a free-for-all" and a desire "to grab all that can be grabbed before the elections" while the State Property Fund "is incapable of an unbiased, objective privatization that is based on competition and law," Yuschenko told a news conference in Kiev.
So "it is worth not to propose or carry out such [privatization] projects," he said.
