KIEV, Aug. 1 – Ukrainian and U.S. aviation authorities discussed cooperation in flight safety between the two countries and the prospects of Ukraine's transition to the Federal Aviation Administration's safety Category 1 during the recent visit to Kiev of FAA official representative to Russia and the CIS Brian Staurseth.
As Interfax-Ukraine learnt at the State Aviation Administration, during the meeting the U.S. official noted the need to improve Ukraine's legislation on flight safety as a requirement for Ukraine's upgrading in the FAA flight safety rating. Besides, the United States has offered help in the development of an action plan on the elimination of certain flaws in flight safety in Ukraine.
