KIEV, Aug. 1 – The pace of economic growth of the country is high, first deputy head of the presidential secretariat Oleksandr Shlapak said on Tuesday.
"Ukraine remains one of the leading European states in terms of the pace of economic growth with an additional economic potential," he said, commenting on the results of activities of the government in the first half of the year.
Moreover, Shlapak said that macroeconomic figures of Ukraine are rather good compared to other CIS countries. The pace of real GDP growth in the first half of 2007 exceeds the average figure over the past seven years – 7.9%, the pace of industrial production growth at 12.1% (in the CIS countries 8%). Shlapak said that the stability of the situation on the financial markets and the fulfillment of the budget are seen.
