KIEV, July 20 - The National Nuclear Generating Company EnergoAtom, the operator of Ukraine's nuclear power plants, in January through June increased electricity generation and sales compared to the same period in 2006, and cut operating violations at the country's nuclear power plants.
EnergoAtom President Andriy Derkach said at a press conference devoted to the results of the company's activities in the first half of 2007 in Kiev on Thursday that electricity generation at the company's nuclear plants over the six months reached 47.568 billion kWh, which is 4.9%, or 2.222 billion kWh more year-on-year, and 3.2% more than the target.
