Ukraine to suspend uranium exports for 2 to 3 years to boost reserves
Journal Staff Report

KIEV, July 19 - Ukraine's uranium exports will be suspended for the next two to three years as the country seeks to create strategic reserves of the metal, Andriy Derkach, the general director of UkrAtomProm, said.

Ukraine, which holds the world's No. 9 deposits of uranium, suspended the exports in December 2006, after most of its strategic reserves had been depleted.
