KIEV, July 8 - Ukraine's consumer prices soared 2.2% on the month in June, more than the government expected, led by rapidly growing prices of food due to an expectation of dismal grain harvest.

The Economy Ministry, which had been expecting monthly inflation at 0.5% in June, said the price hike will probably be contained as the government had been taking stabilization measures.
