KIEV, June 13 - According to a study on the social and economic impact of HIV/AIDS in Ukraine, conducted by the International HIV/AIDS Alliance in Ukraine and the World Bank's office in Ukraine, the spread of HIV-AIDS in Ukraine cut the country's economic growth by 6%, World Bank Director for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova Paul Bermingham said in Kiev.
Alliance Executive Director Andriy Klepikov, in turn, said the total number of HIV-infected individuals could reach 820,000 people in 2014, and the majority of them would be of working age.
