KIEV, May 24 - Germany's Siemens and the Ukrainian State Rail Transport Administration and are developing a locomotive that operates both on alternating and direct current, Rail Administration General Director Volodymyr Kozak said at a Thursday.

He said that the first electric trains operating on both types of current might be launched in about two years. He also said that these trains would make it possible to increase speed and reduce costs.
